People go missing every day, and being sad every day would be too depressing. Change of pace is nice!

It is true that it would be wearing to be sad every day, but being glad that someone is gone seems mean-spirited.

The new people arriving here are a change of pace. You could celebrate that.

Now that you mention it, I was in the middle of a journey out of the country just before I came here.

Unfortunately, we never reached our destination.

We were on our way to India.

So, since we started off in eastern China, it's quite a long journey to the west.
