[Character name] Ivan Braginski (Russia)
[Age] Unknown, but very old. Physically, appears to be in his 20's.
[Canon] Axis Powers Hetalia
[Point in time taken from canon] Modern-day
[Background]
LOL IDK
[Personality]
Externally, a person's first impression of Russia would be that although he's a tall (and big-boned) man, he's got the chubby face and carefree grin of a child.
That would be a mistake.
Despite appearances, Russia is actually a very old country. He has lived through a lot of terror and anguish (let's face it, his history isn't too pretty). As a result, he has essentially been driven mad and lost his mind. Though he remains fully functional, his mentality has greatly suffered. When he does not get his way or feels faulted, he is quick to switch expressions from a pleasant smile to a terrifying grin. This is often accompanied by an insult or threat to the person who wronged him.
Even when smiling happily, Russia can be very cruel to those around him. Baltic countries, especially Lithuania have witnessed his cruelty and abuse firsthand. Russia is simple and childish most of the time, being very direct about his wants and needs, such as wanting to invade somewhere further south because it's warm or attacking Poland due to a grudge. His demeanor is casual and carefree most of the time, making him a yandere. Regardless of facial expression, Russia constantly gives off an evil aura of sorts. Russia thinks nothing of being cruel and violent while remaining absolutely unaware of it.
As a result of all this, it's quite understandable that not too many countries are very fond of Russia. In fact, most are terrified of and/or hate him. Russia does not do much to help his terrible reputation, but he does express a strong desire for other countries to all one day become one with Russia, so that they will all be together.
He dislikes the cold, but knows that it's played a major role in his military victories. Still, he dreams of being in a warm field of sunflowers instead.
[Abilities]
Drinking vodka and never getting drunk
Jumping out of an airplane and not dying
Hitting people with his faucet pipe
Overpowering the evil in even the most cursed of objects with his own evil aura
Eating things which should by all means be inedible
Being creepy as all hell with an innocent smile on his face
[Other important stuff]
Russia is a country.
[Sample post]
[First Person]
- What do you think of your home world?
Wonderful place, but very cold in winter. Friends should come visit, I will smile and greet their hideous faces gladly!
- What were you doing before now?
Watching the ice skaters practice for 2014 Olympic Games. They will take home all the gold, and more platinum.
- If someone provoked or attacked you, what would you do?
Retaliate.
- Would you consider yourself a power hungry individual?
[A menacing grin slowly spreads across his face. Even one who cannot effectively read a person's aura would feel dastardly and downright evil vibes leaking from the very pores of this seemingly-innocent individual. He answers after giving a small laugh,] Why would you think such a thing?
- Someone is trying to rob you! What do you do?
I would acquaint the poor bastard with my faucet pipe. The two would become very good friends.
- You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.
E-eh? [For a moment, he looks shocked, panicked, even. He looks from side to side, as though wary of someone watching him or listening in on his answer.] Only if it is not sister. [After he's checked around himself to make sure that Belarus is nowhere nearby after all, the innocent smile returns and he answers cheerfully.] I would take her somewhere nice and ask her to tell me about herself. If she is very plain and uninteresting, I will ditch her at the restaurant. [smiiiiiile]
- Your country is in the middle of a war. What do you think of it? Do you support it or try to solve it yourself by going on an epic quest? Explain.
I must support the leader, even if I do not want to go to war.
- You are a given a mission. Would you complete it effectively or would you goof off and do something else? Expand a little on the response.
If it is given by my boss, I will complete it, no matter how difficult! [The menacing grin returns.] But that one incident with the canal will not be repeated.
- You discover someone stalking you. Do you call the police or deal with it yourself?
W-why, is sister here? I knew it! She is, isn't she? This was all a trap...! Kolkolkolkolkol... Ah... where is exit?
[Third Person]
Russia continued to walk along the streets, turning at irregular intervals and essentially getting lost in the city. Though the day was dreary and dark clouds loomed overhead, he seemed undisturbed by the unpleasant weather. Reasonable citizens of Somarium understood that it was time to head back inside and call it a day, but the tall blond man seemed to take no notice of the fact that it was getting darker and darker. He continued on his way, whatever that way might have been.
Those passing by would think him a lunatic. He greeted everyone with an all-too-pleasant smile, but simply gave off vibes of a man that should be avoided at all costs. One man in particular made no attempt to hide his discomfort, greeting Russia with a terse scowl and a slight twitch of the eye that was nearly masked by the strands of black hair spilling over his brows. Undisturbed, Russia grinned cheerfully in response to the tall man wearing a ridiculously tall hat. In the country's mind, visions of that man bathed in his own blood and gasping for breath surfaced, and he continued smiling, stepping lively, lost in his sick fantasy for some time.
Before he knew it, Russia found himself entirely out of the city and only Putin-knows-where. The concrete path underneath his feet had been reduced to dirt, stones and mud -- it was raining. Looking around, he saw three buildings nearby. The closest looked abandoned and dilapidated. The next one had a small glimmer of light shining through from one of the windows, illuminating the red fluid dripping from the broken glass and pane. Last, there was a safe-looking hotel.
The choice was obvious.
Russia walked over to the nearly-crumbling building and looked up. With a wicked grin plastered across his face, he took his trusty faucet pipe out from underneath his large coat and swung widely, shattering the already-decaying wall. A loud groan was emitted by the building. Seconds later, it began to move, caving and collapsing toward its injured side. Before long, all that remained was rubble. Russia laughed wickedly in his own amusement at how easily the structure came falling down. Looking between his two remaining options, he went for the next house and opened the front door without a moment's hesitation.
Inside was an altogether frightful scene. The west wall was splattered with blood. A body in the nearby corner was poorly concealed underneath a scarlet-soaked blanket. Giving off a startled gasp, the culprit immediately turned to Russia.
"What do you want?!" the man demanded, pointing a shotgun at the intruder.
The threat was met with a smile. "Only an umbrella, comrade."
As the cheerful country advanced, the murderer only grew that much more furious. Yet Russia continued, taking step after step until he was looming over the criminal, a smile still on his face. The shotgun was pointed up at his face. Russia gently grabbed the weapon and forced it out of the other man's hands with ease.
"Umbrella?" he asked.
"G-go to hell!" the man spat out.
The weapon was flipped in Russia's hands and before the man could react, its butt had struck him forcefully across the temple. He collapsed to the ground, unconscious. Russia dropped the gun and stepped over the man, wandering the cottage to look for an umbrella. Finding one at last, he left the building and opened the lovely parasol -- it was dark blue with a sunflower print.
"How beautiful," Russia remarked to himself as he continued on his way to no destination in particular.
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] It gives me good motivation to study up on Russian history, his dreams would be wonderful, I enjoy our Hetalia cast, and let's face it, Somarium needs more creepers.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] The one about the things with the stuff because.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Маленкий Джон.
[Any questions?] Why do the third person sample prompts still include the floating castle? Is gone, nyet?
